Getting Around The Local Area By Bike

Depending on how confident and fit a cyclist you are, there are a range of destinations that can be accessed by bike from Longwood Fields.

Woodbridge and Melton are both within easy cycling distance – there you’ll find a great range of amenities, including shops, bars and restaurants, a post office, health centre and more. There are also a number of schools and nurseries within a 10-minute cycle.

Locally there are a number of advisory cycle routes, including a traffic free route running along the A12. Take a look on the Woodbridge cycle map, prepared by Suffolk on Board.

National Cycle Network Route 1 passes through Woodbridge too – you can access it in just 5 minutes. Heading south west, the route takes you all the way to Ipswich and to the north, you’ll find an on-road route which passes through a range of towns and villages towards Framlington, where it joins Route 40.
